What we do
KnowYourScent helps you understand and choose fragrance: what notes smell like, how perfumes and attars differ, how to make a scent last in Indian weather, and which makers deserve a bigger audience, especially India's artisan perfume houses.
How we write
- Our guides and note descriptions are written by the KnowYourScent team in our own words.
- We explain perfume jargon in plain language and avoid hype.
- We never invent product details. Notes, prices and claims about specific products come from the brand or retailer, and we link to the source.
- We date every guide and update it when something changes.
- We use AI tools to help with research and drafting. Every guide is checked and edited by our team before it is published.
Where our information comes from
Besides our own writing, we use open sources such as Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons, always with credit. See Sources & Credits for the full list.
